A few weeks ago, the nation was united in mourning for ex-President Cory Aquino (the widow who led the revolution that "dethroned" Pres Marcos). The final service & the funeral procession was shown in all national media. I don't have the facts to prove it, but i think it was one of the most watched event in the history of Philippine television.
Even though i don't really get into a lot of politics (and this post is NOT about politics), but when she led the People Power Revolution it shook the country to its foundations. It gave us democracy. It gave us freedom. It gave us back the REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES!
This is my way of saying goodbye and thanks to the woman brave enough to stand against a government; to the lady that started a revolution; to a President that gave us back our country!
So Long President Corazon Aquino! See you in the next life!
